Principal's Notes PDF
Image“As I prepare to leave I want to thank the Thomson School community for the support and care shown over the past two years. This is my 34th year in education and my 10th year in North Andover. During my 10 years I have had the opportunity to work in four of the elementary schools (Sargent, Atkinson, Bradstreet and Thomson). I have met many terrific children and families and have worked with many talented and dedicated teachers. As we look to the future the Thomson is very fortunate to have Gregg Gilligan as the interim principal next year. He brings a keen understanding of the district and is quickly getting caught up on all aspects of the Thomson. It has been my pleasure to have working in North Andover. I am very proud to say that I ended my career working with such wonderful people. Thank you for everything and I wish you all the very best.” -- John McAleer, 2008

LESSONS LEARNED PDF

By Bailey Regan

Mr. McAleer you taught us a lot
What you did, can't be sold or bought
But there are three lessons I'd like to mention
The ones that deserve the most attention
SHOW RESPECT, polite things are what we say
WORK HARD, do your best each day
DO THE RIGHT THING in every way,
Inside school or out at play
It's sad to say goodbye, we sure had fun
But now your days at Thomson are done
Before you go along your way
There's one last thing I'd like to say,
Thank you Mr. McAleer!

PTO Updates PDF

THANK YOU to Theresa Regan for all her hard work on the yearbook.  They look great!

Over the summer, think about what we can do to make the 2008/2009 school year the best ever for our children and teachers!! We hope you will bring all your suggestions, comments, idea's back with you in the fall! Have a safe and happy summer!!  The PTO board would also like to thank our out-going Co-Vice President Anne Moriarty. Anne thank you for all your help and support during the last two years! Anne will be taking on a new role as grant writer come September...we know that you will continue to do an excellent job! Kelley Plodzick will assume the role as Co-Vice President (along with Laurie Fichera)....so we would like to congratulate her on her new position on the board!

CONGRATULATIONS TO BRYANA MOTTO on winning the Melanoma Foundation of New England Safe Skin Ad Contest! Because of Bryana's winning entry, Thomson School will receive a $1,500.00 grant! Great work, Bryana! We are so proud of you!

CALLING ALL PARENTS!!! A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO VOLUNTEER AT THOMSON!!!! Would you like to become a volunteer for the North Andover Schools Enrichment Council? One of the most enjoyable ways to catch a glimpse of your child's elementary school experience is to become a volunteer for the North Andover Schools Enrichment Council (NASEC). This community-wide organization has been bringing "inhouse" field trips to grades K through 8 for over 20 years, with shows featuring music, art, story-telling, and cultural and science programs, but to name a few. We always welcome more parents to become involved, and it is not a huge time commitment throughout the course of the school year. Please consider joining the Enrichment Council and help keep this kind of programming strong in our schools! For more information, please contact Thomson Representatives Sharon Beninato, (978)682-9933 or MariaRodgers, (978)683-4354 or trinityct@yahoo.com.
